Overview

Nestled on the edge of Amboseli National Park, Elewana Tortilis Camp sits within a private 30,000-acre conservancy that borders the park, offering exclusive access to pristine wildlife areas. The camp is perfectly positioned to capture the legendary views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain, which forms a breathtaking backdrop to Amboseli’s famous elephant herds.

The ambiance is a blend of rustic elegance and eco-luxury. Thatched-roof canvas tents, furnished with handcrafted wooden pieces and natural fabrics, create an intimate safari feel while still offering modern comforts. Shaded by Acacia Tortilis trees — from which the camp takes its name — the setting is serene, quiet, and deeply connected to the surrounding wilderness.

What makes it special is its unparalleled wildlife experiences and exclusivity. Guests enjoy game drives in both Amboseli and the conservancy, where the density of elephants is among the highest in Africa. The camp’s commitment to sustainability — solar power, local sourcing, and community partnerships with the Maasai — ensures that every stay not only delights but also supports conservation. Add to that warm Kenyan hospitality, sweeping Kilimanjaro sunsets, and the tranquility of a private wilderness retreat, and Tortilis stands out as one of Amboseli’s most iconic safari escapes.
