Day 1 – Welcome to the Wild at Ol Pejeta
Your adventure begins the moment you arrive at Ol Pejeta Sweetwaters Serena Camp, set inside the breathtaking Ol Pejeta Conservancy with the majestic Mount Kenya rising in the distance. Whether you travel by road or a short flight to Nanyuki, the scenery shifts into rolling plains, acacia trees, and your very first wildlife sightings along the way.
At camp, you are welcomed with refreshing drinks and genuine Kenyan hospitality before being escorted to your luxury tent. Each tent overlooks a natural waterhole, so even while unpacking you might spot elephants, zebras, or antelope stopping by for a drink.
After a relaxed lunch, your first afternoon game drive sets the tone for the safari experience. With an experienced guide leading the way, venture across open plains in search of lions resting in the grass, endangered rhinos grazing peacefully, and herds of buffalo moving together in powerful silence. As the sun sets, the sky turns golden and pink, creating the perfect photo moment.
Dinner is served back at camp in a warm, lantern-lit setting. The sounds of the wild replace city noise, and the excitement of what tomorrow may bring makes it easy to fall asleep under canvas in complete comfort.
Day 2 – Big Five Encounters and Conservation Experiences
Wake early to the soft glow of sunrise and head out for a morning game drive when wildlife is most active. This is prime time for spotting predators such as lions and hyenas before the day warms up. Giraffes move gracefully across the plains while elephants feed calmly nearby. Every drive feels different, making each moment exciting and full of possibility.
After breakfast, visit the remarkable Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where rescued chimpanzees are cared for in a safe, natural environment. Learn their stories, observe their playful interactions, and gain insight into important conservation efforts happening right here in Ol Pejeta.
The afternoon offers time to relax by the pool, enjoy views from your private veranda, or simply watch animals gather at the waterhole directly in front of camp. Later, head out for another thrilling game drive focused on tracking endangered black and white rhinos, one of the conservancy’s proudest achievements. If you’re feeling adventurous, ask about an optional night game drive for a chance to see nocturnal wildlife rarely spotted during the day.
Dinner once again brings guests together to share stories of the day’s sightings, laughter echoing softly under a sky filled with brilliant stars.
Day 3 – Sunrise, Serenity and Farewell
On your final morning, enjoy a relaxed breakfast while watching the plains come alive one last time. You may choose a guided bush walk with a ranger for a closer look at animal tracks, plants, and smaller wildlife often missed from a vehicle. Walking through the conservancy adds a deeper connection to the landscape and its hidden details.
As you prepare to depart, take a final look at the waterhole, the open plains, and the silhouette of Mount Kenya beyond. You leave not just with photos, but with unforgettable memories of close wildlife encounters, meaningful conservation experiences, and the comfort of a luxury tented camp in the heart of Kenya’s wild beauty.
